Jerusalem Sesame Bread (Ka’ak Al-Quds)

Is a classic bread that’s loved by everyone in the levant and elsewhere. They’re sold on wooden carts in the streets of Jerusalem and all over Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. They are thick fluffy bread that is generously covered with sesame seeds.
The recipe is easy to follow, it only needs a few familiar ingredients and some time for the dough to rest after each step to get the most perfect bread. They have a hint of sweetness from the molasses and also an earthy nutty flavor from the sesame topping. All these flavors make them so irresistible. They’re usually enjoyed warm for a perfect breakfast or as a snack to dip in extra virgin olive oil, Za’atar, cheese and Labneh.
